Available Coupon Code Options per Shopping Cart

Fields and Options that we used to generate coupon codes for each Shopping Carts

When you're creating a new Coupon Code generator for a specific campaign promotion you're creating, here's a list of all the coupon code fields and options that are available for each Shopping Cart before clicking the "Save" button.
The options will be slightly different for each of the four (4) shopping carts we integrate with:

  • WooCommerce
  • Magento/Zoey
  • BigCommerce
  • Shopify

Common Options for WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce & Shopify


These fields and options are common to all 4 of our Shopping Carts

  • Coupon Code name - This is the internal name of the coupon you can use to track which coupon it is (Your customers won't see this). For (Ex. New Customer 10% Off )
  • Coupon Code Available API Call - The API call that should be made when the coupon code is created in the store and uploaded to the Marketing Platform. (Ex. You set the API to NEWCUSTOMER10 so you will then call the API NEWCUSTOMER10 in your campaign)
  • Coupon Code Offer Field - The custom property in the Marketing Platform's Contact Record where this coupon code offer should be saved. (Ex. You created a custom text field Coupon Code in Hubspot/Infusionsoft. )
  • Coupon Code Format - The word added to the beginning of each coupon code that is generated for the current coupon campaign. (Ex. You set the prefix to Welcome so the coupon would look like WELCOME - 63TD2B3 )
  • Coupon Code Expiration Field - The custom property in the Marketing Platform's Contact Record where this coupon code expiration date should be saved. (Ex. You created a custom date field Coupon Code Expiration in Hubspot/Infusionsoft and the expiration date for that coupon is 10 days after. Let's say today is 3/12/2017 so the expiration date which is 3/22/2017 will be stored in that field. )
  • Discount Amount - The amount or percentage of discount you want to apply for you coupon code. (Ex. You selected the discount type to precentage per item so you will set the discount to 10. So the customer will have a 10% when using the coupon code. )
  • Applies To - The products or categories where you want to apply this coupon code. (Ex. You want to apply this coupon code to all products. So will have to select "All Categories" then the customer can just use the coupon on any products that you sell. )
  • Expires in - The time where you want to expire the coupon code. (Ex. You select 45 days, so will expire after 45 days from the day that you created it. )

WooCommerce-Specific Options


These are some fields that we used to generate coupon codes for Woocommerce.

  • Discount Type - The type of discount where you want to apply the coupon code. Is it per item, per total, per shipping or a percentage discount. (Ex. You set $2 as a discount so the customer will have a $2 discount per item, that is the per item discount. )
  • Cart Discount -The fixed total discount for the entire cart. ( Ex. if the cart contains 3 t-shirts @ $20 each = $60, a coupon for $10 off will give a discount of $10.)
  • Cart Percent Discount - The percentage discount for the entire cart. (Ex. if the cart contains 3 t-shirts @ $20 each = $60, a coupon for 10% off will give a discount of $6.)
  • Product Discount - A fixed total discount for selected products only. The customer will receive the fixed amount of discount per product item. (Ex. 3 t-shirts @ $20 each with a coupon for $10 off, will give a discount of $30.
  • Product Percent Discount - The percentage discount for selected products only.(Ex. 3 t-shirts @ $20 each with a coupon for 10% off, will give a discount of $6 or 3 * 10% of $20.)

Magento-Specific Options


These are some fields that we used to generate coupon codes for Magento.

  • Discount Type - The type of discount where you want to apply the coupon code. Is it per item, per total, per shipping or a percentage discount. (Ex. You set $2 as a discount so the customer will have a $2 discount per item, that is the per item discount.
  • Fixed amount discount - The fixed amount of discount you want to apply for the coupon code on in a product. (Ex. You set the amount of discount to $10. So customer will have a fixed discount of $2 for each product that she bought)
  • Fixed amount discount for whole cart - The fixed amount of discount you want to apply for the coupon code for the whole cart. (Ex. You set the amount of discount to $10. So customer will have a fixed discount of $10 regardless of how many items she bought as long that it's under 1 cart)
  • Buy X Get Y Free (Discount Amount is Y) - The discount where the customer a free product when she bought a certain product. (Ex. The customer bought some shoes so she will 1 free bag for it.)

BigCommerce-Specific Options


These are some fields that we used to generate coupon codes for Bigcommerce.

  • Discount Type - The type of discount where you want to apply the coupon code. Is it per item, per total, per shipping or a percentage discount. (Ex. You set $2 as a discount so the customer will have a $2 discount per item, that is the per item discount. )
  • Per Item Discount - The discount per item you that you want to apply. (Ex. For all the lotion products they will have a $2 on each product.)
  • Per Total Discount - The discount given for the total amount. (Ex. The customer's total amount is $120 and you set the discount to $10 then it would be $120 - $1
  • Shipping Discount - The discount give to customers when they ship their products. (Ex. You set the shipping discount to $5 and it's shipping fee is $20 so it would be $20 - $5.)
  • Free Shipping - The free shipping discount applied for the coupon codes. (Ex. The customer bought $120 worth of items then she used the coupon code so she will then get a free shipping.)
  • Percentage Discount - The percentage discount for selected products only.(Ex. 3 t-shirts @ $20 each with a coupon for 10% off, will give a discount of $6 or 3 * 10% of $20.)
