How to Fix a Missing Scopes Error

Each app that can connect to Unific requires certain scopes (permissions) for Unific to access data or features in the platform being connected.

Unific apps require specific scopes (permissions) to access data and functionality in the platforms they connect to. A “missing scopes” error means those permissions are incomplete or outdated.

Shopify

If you're using a Shopify custom app, follow our guide to ensure all required scopes are included:

How to Create a Custom App for Shopify

App Store Apps

If you're using a Shopify App Store-listed app like Unific Dynamic Coupons, you can easily refresh the scopes:

  • Go to the Connected Apps page in your Unific admin.
  • Disconnect the Shopify app.
  • Reconnect it to reauthorize the required scopes.

HubSpot

When installing any Unific-built app for HubSpot, all required and optional scopes are automatically set up on install. They may need to be updated.

If you encounter a scope-related error in Unific or are informed by our support team that scopes are missing:

  • Go to the Connected Apps page in your Unific admin.
  • Disconnect the HubSpot app.
  • Reconnect it to reauthorize the required scopes.
